"The urgent supply of the farmers, who suffered
in the result of the freezing and drought, with autumn wheat seeds".
FAO donated 1000 tones of winter wheat, to be
given, for free to private farmers. The project is implemented in
ten rayons and namely in Causeni, Cantemir, Rezina, Stefan-Voda,
Leova, Cimislia, Anenii Noi, Telenesti, Soldanesti and Orhei.
In the result of the open tender, the Union of
Agricultural Producers' Associations of the Republic of Moldova
UNIAGROPROTECT, became a FAO partner in implementing this project.
The Union's role consists in verifying the seed storages, according
to the keeping and security standards. In the same time, the Union
monitorises the whole process of the seeds transportation, from
the central storage to the villages around the republic and is responsible
for giving the logistic support and assistance to the rayon authorities,
for the optimisation of this process.
